Dappled Wines is a young brand with 2009 the first vintage. Winemaker Shaun Crinion wanted the chance to make wines that were a true expression of the vineyard - and so Dappled was born.

Shaun's winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention; he believes in maximising vineyard expression and minimising the need for unnatural addition to the wines.

With the experience of working on three continents over 15 vintages, Shaun Crinion’s winemaking philosophy has evolved into a light-handed approach of minimal intervention and scant addition, focusing on the pure expression of site and fruit.

For both the Appellation and Single Vineyard wines, the fruit is hand-picked into 10kg crates to prevent bruising. It’s then hand-sorted to ensure only pristine berries are selected before fermentation with ambient yeasts. Sulphur additions are kept to a minimum, and the wines are un-fined and only receive minimal filtration before bottling.
