TWO BROOKE'S BAR OPENING HOURS Thursday to Sunday for Lunch and Friday and Saturday nights for Dinner or by appointment. ABOUT TWO BROOKE'S BAR The two Brooke's brothers, Rod and Lance, have a combined experience of over 60 years filling the glasses and plates of their customers and clients. The Two Brooke's Bar is their first joint venture as they combine their talents to reopen Lillydale Estate winery cellar door after it closed over a year ago. The brothers grew up in nearby Upwey at the foot of the Dandenongs and have always wanted to open a venue that takes advantage of the wonderful produce available in the local area. Rod started his apprenticeship as a butcher at the age of 14 and won apprentice of the year in his final year.Following this, Rod broadened his experience by managing two restaurants, manufacturing quality smallgoods and developing new product for poultry processors. Rod has had his own butcher shops, trained apprentices and is well known for quality product which includes a range of hand made sausages. Rod was in partnership with the first liquor licensed butcher shop in Australia which developed a reputation for providing the best smallgoods, meat, delicatessen, local wine and beer. Rod is a member of the local Rotary Club that raises funds for many local and international causes. His efforts won him the Paul Harris Fellowship award in 2010 Rod has also run his own outside catering business for several years and is looking forward to transferring his skills to the beautiful surrounds of the Lillydale Estate vineyards. Lance commenced his hospitality career as a waiter for the iconic hills restaurant 'Baron of Beef'. He worked for the Beaumont Group of hotels as assistant manager, resturant manager of DeBortoli' at Dixons Creek, Burham Beeches in Sherbrook and Milton Park in NSW. A stint overseas included work in a restuarant in Covent Gardens to add some international experience. Lance also spent some time in tropical Cairns developing cocktails at the bar where he managed the cellar before relocating to Hume Weir where he managed a tourist resort. The last fifteen years has seen Lance refine his skills working at one of Melbourne's premier restaurants, Lynches of South Yarra. At various times he has held the positions of bar manager, cellar master, manager and wine buyer. A change of ownership at the restuarant gave Lance the impetus to start his own venture. The opportunity to work with Rod at Lillydale Estate was the ideal venture, being a business that they could both contribute vast experience to and in an area they love. Lance and Rod are very excited about starting Two Brooke's Bar and are looking forward to getting to know the locals and customers.
